In Pilates we use breath to mobilize & utilize energy to all areas of our body. Proper breath is an integral part of this practice. Just one of the 6 Pilates principles as designed & taught by Joseph Pilates original work known to us as "Contrology". Learning the breathe and how it invigorates our exercise & movement is the key to mastering and advancing to forming a beautiful Pilates Body.

I actively discovered movement of body as a necessity while a young nurse, witnessing many accounts of sick patients. I decided the "move it or lose it" theory was not a joke, but absolutely needed to be a way of life. I've also seen plenty of scenarios of how sick physical health, can be overcome by a healthy mind & spirit. I tried many exercise routines over the years that helped me. As a runner, I had experienced several small injuries, which, when I discovered Pilates 3 years ago, in 2018, I knew this would be my new passion. No more injuries, instead I was healing from the old injuries & strengthening my body within. The slow, purposeful movement was teaching me to slow down and think about what I was doing while I was moving my body. I was taught that it should never hurt. If it hurts stop doing it. Hmm!! We'll modify instead. And that is where it began. Slowly healing and slowly getting to know my body, ever so wonderfully, I noticed my mind & body working in sync. Spirit followed. That is when I decided I wanted to share this new thing I had discovered with others. I studied & received my Comprehensive Pilates Certification in September 2020. All along I wanted to start my own little studio. I wasn't sure what that would look like. Especially in the midst of a Pandemic which had shut down many businesses nation wide as well as many self owned companies. However, my spirit soared and here I am. So, I invite you to come and visit and see how I might offer to you the same privilege that I have found and love in my Pilates practice. I'm anxious to meet you and see where we will go. I have a small, intimate studio in my home in the Country Club/Dundee area of town. I currently offer private sessions only. Off street parking.
Come as you are for Mind, Body & Spirit exercise & healing. Each class meets your individual physical needs & limitations. I offer Beginner, Intermediate & Advanced.
Once familiar with the style & available equipment I allow you the choice of your favorite flow or apparatus & your favorite moves then I will lead the flow.
